OH, HEY, MIAMI

A couple of weeks ago I got invited to go to Miami to visit some friends I made on my trip to South America. Like a lot of people, my knowledge of the city was pretty much informed by Will Smith and Pitbull songs alone, so I was excited to see what it’s really like.

It was super fun, as I had assumed. However, I hadn’t assumed seeing it as a potential place to live – but ever since I left South America, I had been dreaming of not having to choose between living in a place where I am a citizen and living in a place where everybody dances and speaks Spanish. It’s a bit over the top, of course (I was the only girl out at night in flats, and one can easily spend a few hundred bucks on club entrance alone) but I like over the top better than quiet and calm :)

More South Beach

Oh, just a random Saturday afternoon lap-dance competition held at a bar with a pool. You know, the usual.

Cool art in Miami’s design district.

Shirts inspired by this David Guetta song.

Mango’s is a bar just off South Beach. TONS of fun, I promise you.

Musicians at Mango’s.

Ask a guy to show you around Miami and this is what you get! Haha.

I got my all-night dance extravaganza fix here.

Recovering from that all night dance extravaganza…pretty damn good way to spend a Monday if you ask me!

Some birds.

Fort Myers has a pretty good beach too. Not as pretty as South Beach, but solid nonetheless. If you’re there, there’s a hotel called Lani Kai…sort of a retro resort type place that has this rooftop restaurant with an amazing view (and the tables have benches that rock back and forth!).

SEATTLE, I’M GOING TO MISS YOU

I’ve lived in Seattle for the past year and a half, and now I have two weeks left.  It’s been pretty fantastic.  I’m going to miss this rainy, tech-y, creative, hipster-y city.  Good friends, good times, lots of music, yummy cocktails and even, god forbid, the traffic jams that happen every time the sun comes out.  It’s been real, Emerald City.  We will meet again!
